Shenzhen is one city which comes to everone one’s mind when you think about futuristic living and technology, also known as Slicon valley of China, this is a metropolis and third most populas city in China. In 1970s it used to be a fishing village but now a powerhouse.

We had our flight planned for the afternoon from Beijing but due to cyclone most of the flights got either cancelled or rescheduled. Spent more than half a day in the airport, finally late evening we got the news that it’s time to take-off.

Landed around mid night in Shenzhen and took a taxi towards the hotel… soon got a feel of Hong Kong since English was spoken widely, city feels happening even so late at night with a lot of restaurants & shops open….. and it was easy to move around, although google map doesn’t give the correct location still…

We reached our hotel well past mid night in Huaqiangbei area….took a short stroll around the area and explored some eateries around. Before calling it a night!

Next morning, as usual wanted to explore the life in a new city…. it’s always early in the morning when you feel the real vibe of local flavours. We started walking on a market street with road side eateries, coffee shops, some shopping complexies turned into playgrounds …. one thing we noticed was electronic related items were everywhere.

There was a coffee shop right opposite to our place of stay called Cotti Coffee, we sat outside sipping a cup of coffee and observed the morning acivities. It was an extremely busy city and skyscrappers all around.

Morning had some offical works to do, hence got ready quickly and went for our meet. Post that we started exploring the city.  This city has no limits to your electronic purchases.

We walked from malls after malls and everywhere you turn, you find the electronic items from petty stuffs to huge ones. There were Robos for sale, passenger drones and there are even taxis driven without drivers.

This city is well beyond you imagination. And we were looking to get some quick shopping done. Cameras that can print the images for less than 6-7 USD, smart watches with almost all the features as in any high watches for about 10-12 USD, good quality action cameras for about 30-40 USD, smart phones starting ftom 5-6 USD…. Man this city is a play ground for any electronic retailers…

After sometime got exhausted, sat down in one of the cafes just chilled over looking the skyscrappers. Almost all the cafes give you similar views in this city. Coffee quality was top notch. Its crowded almost anytime….

After a while in the evening wanted to visit a shopping mall which had a lot of resto. I went a German place called Haxnbauer. People where so hospitable and made me sit near the live music arena although i went alone. The food and drink were amazing…. The live music started little late but they nailed it. What an evening it was! almost everyone there started singing along.

After an eventful and busy day in Shenzhen, its time to say good bye and fly out of this futuristic city.
