Hoi An is a beautiful coastal town in central Vietnam you must visit for its dreamy vibes, gorgeous streethouses and beautiful lanterns.

There is something in Hoi An for everyone…A quaint, old town perfect for strolling, shopping and dining, with a lot of history…. awesome beaches and parks for the kids… The river running in middle of the old city is a sight to watch….

We did stay at a couple of places a homestay next to the An bang beach and a resort on the Danang highway. An bang beach was more laid back… I some how got a feel of Malacca a decade ago… A lot of cafes on the beach and small allies that you can explore with a typical Vietnamese culture. The homestay was a perfect blend of Vietnamese home with a friendly host.

A regular touristy visit to the coconut boat village, we drove on our two wheeler to one of the cafes on the river. Took a boat on the river, it was scenic and some touristy stuff to do with dancing boats, music and fun rides.

Then we took a stroll on the Hoi An ancient town visiting a few temples, monuments and few historical sites. This place has a blend of French, Portuguese and chinese architecture.

You can sit there whole day admiring the beauty of this place, we hopped a few restaurants next to the river, post evening the entire area lights with laterns and definitely even more beautiful.

The beaches are something not to be missed while in Hoi An. Although it rained when we were there, it’s always pleasant to spend some time here while the Sun was out. You can also opt for some spa experience right on the beach, must experience it.

You can also visit the Vinwonderspark. There are replica structures of how Vietnamese people live, culture, model houses, etc. There is also a river safari and theme park for kids.

The cultural museum is huge it will take you at least couple of hours to go through it. It has lot of information, one can also try some games the tribes play, food they eat, method of cooking and many more.

The 3d paintings are definitely worth visiting. It makes you feel it’s a reality…A complete hall had been dedicated to paintings like these ones.

Taking a stroll in this area gives you a European touch, the architectural setup gives you a feel of a different country. It’s very nice to walk near the artificial river.

Vietnamese coffee is something not to be missed. There are lot of coffee places in old town which are worth visiting. If you are coffee lover you are in for a treat! Taste a bean and buy some coffee powders… We did hope to a few and wasn’t disappointed.

Nightmarket stroll will be your highlight with a lot of colorful lanterns around. You can take a boat ride to release a few laterns in the river. Although it’s a bit touristy, you can just do it to see the colors at night.

There are many restos that are open until late night with a lot of music and good vibes. Different hostels do the hopping at night, we ended up with a hostel called the Fuse. Met a lot of travellers and shared lot of travel stories.
