Nattika is a tiny beach village with picturesque landscapes in Gods own country – Kerala. Situated in the Arabian sea coast with it’s lush unspoiled tropical beauty, exotic locales and tranquil backwaters makes this lesser known village a peaceful getaway.
Everytime i visited Nattika, explored something different. Never waste any amount of time doing anything important when there is a sunset in Nattika, yes Nattika beach happens to be one of the best to see sunset.
Three kilometre long white sandy beach has lot of interesting cafes, shacks to relax and enjoy the sunset. On a lucky day, you could spot some dolphins too.
Almost every traveler to Kerala is well aware of Alappuzha and it’s backwaters. But only a handful know that there is a backwater near Nattika which has the biggest mangrove forest in Kerala with very little people visiting it.
Chettuva backwaters is hardly 20 mins drive from Nattika and taking a boat ride near the mangroves is breathtaking. We also drove our car on the road next to the mangrove forest .
There are some small islands as well in the backwaters where some local agents can plan for your stay or just have lunch, relax and unwind here. One could see locals fishing, making coir, etc in the villages next to backwaters.
Morning walks in nattika is always a bliss. The road next to the beach runs for few kilometres, one side you find beach and another side villages. Some places on the way gives a heavenly feel with lot of greenery, coconut trees, streams joining the sea, etc.
Not to miss the morning breakfast and chai at a tea stall next to Snehatheeran beach. For very little you pay, you can taste good food with a great view.
Popularly known as Loveshore beach cafes is a hidden gem. They are located at couple of places on the Loveshore beach. This is one place you shouldn’t miss if planning to spend an evening in Nattika. Beautifully setup, a perfect place to see sunset. Good dinner with fresh sea food is also served in one of the cafes.
These days few ayurvedic resorts have come up. People looking for a long stay with ayurvedic therapy can opt to stay here. These resorts have their own private beach as well.
